Summer

Sometimes cool, sometimes hot. Spring was a bouncing ball of weather at times. And now summer. Suddenly so hot that I am indoors this afternoon doing housework and mending. And computing.

Miss Moppet and I have been together nearly a year. She is a unique kitty and is not like other cats I have known. A licking machine with a sandpaper tongue that makes me jump and pull away. She nips. If I pat too much, or try to snip claws. Yet to draw blood, but once left tooth marks.

Very particular about what she eats. Which scratching post she uses. Where she sleeps.

She is all but impossible to pick up, and doesn’t eat anything with gabapentin cat relaxant mixed in. What will the future bring for us? And for her claws? Today I hunted for my leather skirt which I never wear and which has hung in the closet for years… No longer there. I think I discarded it over winter. It would have been great for covering my legs when she sits on my lap and kneads.

She is learning to keep her claws in since I remove her immediately if I get stabbed. Today I am deliberating how to deal with a website I never use. It has to go. But where, how, when? Definitely this summer.
